Manyama unhappy with playing time in Turkey

Lebogang Manyama in action for Bafana Bafana

Lebogang Manyama's agent has admitted the midfielder is frustrated with his lack of playing time at Turkish club Konyaspor.

As rumours swirl of a potential exit for his client, Maimane Phiri has revealed that he advised the 27-year-old against moving back to South Africa.

"I have had a discussion with him and he has told me about not playing as much as he wanted to in Turkey," Phiri told the Sowetan.

"At the end of the day, I can't force him to stay there, so he must decide what is best for his future. I have given him my advice that he must hang in there and stay overseas."

However, Phiri admitted there is interest in Manyama, claiming: "I can't talk much, but a few clubs have made inquiries."

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly keen on adding the Bafana Bafana international to their ranks.

Manyama won the PSL Footballer of the Season prize for his performances for Cape Town City in 2016/17.

Just a year later, a return to South Africa appears possible. According to reports, Manyama told Konyaspor coach Riza Calimbay to release him if he is not in his plans.
