Eymael has no problem staying at Ea Lla Koto

Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael

Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael insists he is perfectly happy showing his commitment to the club after missing out on the Kaizer Chiefs job.

The Belgian was seen as a potential successor to Steve Komphela at Naturena after clinching six-placed finishes with Polokwane City and Ea Lla Koto in the past two seasons.

Eymael quickly turned around the fortunes of the Bethlehem outfit, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Premiership in 2016/17, but qualified for the MTN 8 in his first campaign at the helm.

However, Amakhosi finally settled on former Stars coach Giovanni Solinas last week, and his replacement has no issue at being overlooked by the Soweto giants.

"He speaks French and he was at Stars when I was at Polokwane City and he was also in Algeria at ES Setif," the 58-year-old was quoted as saying by SowetanLive.

"He's a good coach who likes his team to play with plenty of possession so all the best to him at Kaizer Chiefs.

"If no big team wants to sign me, it's no problem. I have said before that I will show commitment to Stars if no concrete offer comes in."

Solinas was not on the touchline as Chiefs beat Eymael's side on penalties to win the 2018 Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup final on Saturday, with the Italian still awaiting his work permit.
