Wayne Rooney Head Injury

Wayne Rooney has posted pictures of his horrific head injury on his Facebook page in a bid to silence any doubts about his fitness to play for England.

The graphic images clearly show the nasty gash on the Manchester United striker’s forehead, which has ruled him out of England’s forthcoming World Cup qualifiers with Moldova and Ukraine.

“Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games, he wrote.

“There’s nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers. I’m sure people will see from these images the reason why I won’t be able to play.”

Rooney suffered the deep cut when he was caught on the head by Phil Jones’ boot during an accidental clash with his United team-mate in training on Saturday, as David Moyes’ squad prepared for Sunday’s game at Liverpool.

Earlier, England team-mate Theo Walcott had admitted Rooney’s gash was a gruesome sight more akin to a Hollywood horror than a football pitch.

“I have seen a picture and it is a very, very big gash. It’s not nice to see. It’s like something out of a horror film,” said the Arsenal man.
